How should the bioscope be packed for transport?

To prevent damage during transport, it is essential that the bioscope is packed correctly. The bioscope contains sensitive components, and improper packaging may result in equipment damage, malfunction, and potential liability. Follow the guidelines below carefully.

Important guidelines for packing the bioscope

  1. No ropes must be cut. The bioscope, the three short ropes, the sea cable and the steel ring are considered one complete unit and must not be separated.

  2. Suspension ropes and safety ropes must be coiled and detached from the steel ring.
Secure the rope coils to prevent them from coming loose during transport.

  3.  2.0 bioscopes are often delivered in a dedicated transport box. If you have access to this box, it should always be used for safe transport.

If the transport box is not available, ensure that all glass surfaces on the instruments are properly protected. Cover the glass areas with cardboard discs or a similar protective material, and securely tape them to the plastic housing to prevent movement or damage during handling.

  4. Place a cardboard sheet or similar material at the bottom of the pallet to prevent cables from falling through and becoming damaged.

  5. Use shock-absorbing material underneath the instrument to reduce impact during transport.
The ropes may be used as cushioning material.

  6. Place the cage edge cabinet on the pallet with the cabinet door facing downwards.
Ensure the cabinet is secured so it cannot slide and damage or scratch the instrument glass.

  7. Secure all equipment to the pallet using straps.
The pallet must have pallet collars and preferably a lid.

  8. Improper or insufficient packaging that results in damage to the equipment may lead to liability for damages.
